Hi Apologies if this has already been answered, I did a quick search but couldn''t find anything. Basically, I''ve just acquired a ''98 A4 avant, I have three keys, one with a little torch (which I''m assuming is the main key), a spare key (sans torch) and a plastic key. All of the keys unlock the car, but only the spare key starts it.
Theywill get inside your car, set it to "program" mode, and then synchronize the key fob with the car. Also, if the key fob is lost or destroyed, it's important first to find the key fob replacement, and then to program it to your vehicle's computer. When one battery is dead others are close. So if you buy OEM sensors, one at the time, you will spend aftermarket sensors ($160) and VCDS ($350).
